The Hinton Public Library re-opened
on October 13th after extensive renovations. Our
funding of over $3000 has not resulted in a permanent space
for the art club there but the Town of Hinton has given us the Arts and Crafts room in the rec centre for meetings
and workshops, with a large storage room
for permanent usage. Very reasonable rates were instituted... in fact, more economical than our earlier art club
venue and a much better place. We are happy with the current facilities but the local Arts Council (along with
the Art Club and other arts organizations) has submitted a proposal to the Town of Hinton to convert the former
firehall into an arts and crafts building with studios, offices, gallery space and workshop facilities. Currently,
the Hinton Art Club has an exhibition honouring Hinton's 50th Anniversary on display with 40 pieces of paintings
and photos.
